Jesus is the Christ, the redeemer, and saviour of all Christians. He therefore deserves veneration and thanksgiving for the sacrifice He made to redeem every one of us from our sins. Reciting the Divine Mercy Chaplet is an appropriate way to honor Christ's life, death, and ressurection in attonement for our sins - and is also a powerful prayer of intercession for others who are trapped in a cycle of sin and are in need of His mercy.
